Relevant Output Measures

Clinical excellence is your priority and so we work alongside leading Physiotherapists and Podiatrists to ensure that our system delivers the most clinically appropriate output measures for your purpose.

JOINT ANGLE CURVES

The sagittal, frontal and transverse plane kinematic curves for the pelvis, hip, knee and ankle joints are displayed versus a database of uninjured controls, providing you with the most in-depth kinematic analysis of the human gait cycle that is currently available.

The Run3D system outputs kinematic curves for pelvic tilt, pelvic obliquity, pelvic rotation, hip flexion/extension, hip abduction/adduction, hip rotation, knee flexion/extension, knee abduction/adduction, knee rotation, ankle plantar/dorsiflexion, ankle eversion/inversion and tibial rotation.

DISCRETE KINEMATIC AND SPATIO-TEMPORAL PARAMETERS

Parameters that have been associated with lower-limb injuries and gait retraining are automatically extracted from the joint angle data, compared to the database of uninjured controls and presented graphically in an easy-to-understand format to provide you with a clinically relevant, quick and readily interpretable assessment of gait.

Over 20 discrete parameters including cadence, over-stride, foot progression, step-width, peak eversion, dorsiflexion at foot-strike, maximum dorsiflexion, eversion excursion, knee flexion at foot-strike, maximum knee flexion, hip extension at toe-off, maximum hip adduction, maximum hip internal rotation, mean pelvic tilt angle, maximum pelvic obliquity are presented.

CLINICAL TESTING

You can further your understanding of a client’s biomechanics by combining the gait analysis with an objective clinical assessment. Run3D enables you to quantify a wide-range of clinical tests, including measures of muscular strength (using a Lafayette hand-held dynamometer), joint range of motion, anatomical structure and lower-limb function. The clinical exam results are compared to the normal databases and presented graphically in an easy-to-understand format, enabling you to immediately identify any deficiencies and/or asymmetries and providing further insight into lower-extremity function.

Over 20 clinical parameters and functional tests including hip abductor and adductor strength, hip internal and external rotator strength, ankle inversion and eversion strength, 1MTPJ range of motion, ankle dorsiflexion range of motion, hip flexor flexibility, hamstring flexibility, quadriceps flexibility, Q-Angle, the Foot Posture Index, balance, core strength, single leg calf raises and single leg squats can be quantified.
